The tenets

After the Parinirvana of the Buddha, many views and disagreements on what the Buddha stated as the path liberation arose. To understand this subject, this text give an extensive discourse regarding the beliefs of the various Buddhist schools of thought. The purpose of this book is to educate those who desire a deeper and more profound understanding of how the various schools expound reality. The importance of this knowledge is something which has been passed down from the great universities such as Nalanda. This tradition is the foundation of the growth of the Gelugpa tradition in Tibet. The great Tibetan Jetsun Chokyi Gyaltsen composed this book for the purpose of elimination of doubt and to illuminate the complexities of the deep and profound teachings of the Buddha. This publication is focused in allowing the student of Buddhism to not only read and understand the different concepts, we have composed it in a Tibetan/English format to enhance the methods we use to validate the accuracy of this translation. It is essential to the validation of this work that everyone may be able to participate in our translation. In presenting this work, we aim to establish the confidence in our translation, necessary for all to enjoy the effort it has taken for this translation to be developed. May all virtue increase.
